Dave Falk is a rising songwriter on the American roots scene with his own unique brand of “Falk” music. Half of critically acclaimed duo Sweet Wednesday, his songs have garnered comparisons to Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and John Hiatt. Dave has toured the US and Europe, and has performed as a headliner at the Ozark Folk Festival, Club Passim, The Bull Run, The Blue Door, the Burren, and the Middle East, to name a few. He currently has a residency with his band at the legendary Plough and Stars in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

A multi-instrumentalist, Dave always brings on an exciting live show, picking up mandolin, fiddle or banjo for a tune, blowing on his harp, or going from soft travis picking on his Martin D-35 to howling solos on his red Stratocaster. Dave’s songs run the gamut from a disaster ridden trip to New York City, a Revolutionary War love story, a retelling of the ancient myth of Ceyx and Alcyon, to his California days when he lived in a tent on a roof. Dave has one solo CD, Love Breaks All the Rules, featuring 2018 Grammy Winner Jon Natchez (The War on Drugs) and two albums released with Sweet Wednesday, Wherever You Go and Escaping from the Pale Moonlight.

"Think about the last time you received an unexpected and totally delightful gift. That’s just how I felt when I heard the music of Sweet Wednesday. You’ll forgive the gushing when you hear the alt-country, folk, roots sound of the Boston-based duo known individually as Dave Falk and Lisa Housman. I didn’t think musicians made music this addictive anymore… full of the type of imagery that can only be likened to a Joan Baez or Leonard Cohen song—really that rich and magical”
– Nancy Dunham, MTV Partner Ourstage and Contributing Writer for Rolling Stone

“If Natalie Merchant and Neil Young were to form a band, the result wouldn’t be distant from Sweet Wednesday’s harmonious mélange of folk, country, and roots rock…Sweet Wednesday’s emotionally stirring and poetic narratives on Escaping from the Pale Moonlight lend credibility to such a startling comparison.”
– Stacey Zering, No Depression
